Overview
Over two days, representatives from industry, Member State authorities, academia and EU institutions came together to exchange perspectives on Data Management and the technologies and architectures needed to build secure, scalable and resilient public-sector digital infrastructure across Europe.
Organised by eu-LISA in cooperation with the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU, this edition focuses on Data Management.
As European institutions increasingly depend on complex, interconnected digital systems, protecting sensitive data throughout its lifecycle while maintaining security and interoperability is becoming increasingly critical. Our CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Ingrid Romijn, contributed to Session 3, “Secure and scalable data architectures for the public sector”, sharing Q*Bird’s perspective on strengthening the protection of sensitive and mission-critical data as European digital systems become increasingly interconnected.
From digital sovereignty and interoperability to resilience and secure data architectures, the discussions reinforced an important challenge, as Europe continues to modernise the large-scale IT systems supporting justice, migration, asylum and border management, the infrastructure carrying sensitive information must be prepared not only for the threats of today, but also those of tomorrow. This is where quantum secure communication becomes increasingly relevant.
The Falqon® MDI-QKD Series enables scalable, interoperable and operational quantum secure communication networks, adding a physics-based security layer for protecting critical communications across complex infrastructure environments.
A sincere thank you to eu-LISA, the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU, and everyone involved in bringing together such a diverse community of public-sector and technology experts. It was a privilege to contribute to the dialogue and exchange perspectives on how Europe can continue building trusted, resilient and future-ready digital infrastructure.
